Pros
If you are a teacher or professor then you may find that this book is perfect. It is great for teaching a class. You will need to have some basic knowledge before you try using this book. If you already have that knowledge then you will be very happy with this book.
Cons
It is missing key text information. It is very hard to read. The sequencing is very difficult. Some seemingly simple things have been completely skipped over. It is not very useful as a textbook because it is missing some key things that you need to know to understand the program.
Summary
This book is very incompatible with the course it was created for. There are some basic operating system terms and options that are simply missing. It does not flow through like you need it to. Most of the things that you need to know are not covered. It says it is introductory but as such it does not give you term and directions and expects you to just know them. If you are a teacher or a professor you have a lot better of a chance of this book being useful for you. If you are trying to get this book for a college class, it will do exactly what you need it to do, if you purchase the hard copy. The ebooks are not compatible for most kindle apps. It will help you to complete the assignments that you need. The other books in the series are much better at providing you with the terms and directions that you need. There are some examples and there are quite a few mistakes that need to be fixed or updated to be used in an efficient way. Just make sure this is exactly what you need for your class.
