A great comprehensive resource that simplifies medical terminology and presents medical terms in their relevant contexts.
Cons
The book does not come with a CD or a code for an e-book version but instead has a QR code that points to an app download that requires payment for access.
Summary
This text blends the conventional textbook style with a workbook approach. The chapters have brief sections of between 5 and 10 pages that contain textual content and figures relating to the specific topic followed by relevant explanations about related terminologies. The content further highlights brief personal accounts from patients that show the relevance of the information from a clinical perspective. The last section of the chapters contain various activities to enable the reader to recall the information. In this book great emphasis is placed on learning roots rather than requiring readers to memorize the content. There are also many practice activities to ensure that you can remember the information. Readers should be ready to come across plenty of new words and terminologies as well as concise explanations and interactive practice activities.
