Pros
You will be glad to see that this is basically a cookbook for video games. You have the basic recipes you need to build computer games across platforms. It works well for you, especially if you know Java.
Cons
It is for people who are already informed about how video games work. It does not have the ability to teach you if you are trying to learn from scratch. There are not enough pictures for you to walk through it this way.
Summary
It is one of the best books available on computer programming. It is detailed enough that you can use it across platforms as a recipe book. It is a well laid out and easy to understand book. It is great to see that it flows gracefully. The only downside is that it needs more pictures that accurately reflect the details in which it provides.
